Bedlam Asset Management plc is an independent equity fund management company based in London. Bedlam describes its purpose and business processes as follows:
"….Our aims are to realise the objectives of every investor; capital preservation and then absolute returns. Clients' capital is preserved through the use of cash and simple derivatives to mitigate inevitable downturns in stock markets…. We are unconstrained by any benchmarks or indices. Good investment management is about process, discipline and avoiding minefields. It is not about fashions and fads; nor is it about investing in large companies that were once winners…."
Bedlam's principal funds are geography specific OEICs (eg Bedlam UK Fund, Bedlam Global Fund, Bedlam Japan Fund, Bedlam Emerging Markets Fund, Bedlam Europe Fund as long-only equity funds where protection against losses is provided through the use of put options). Bedlam also manages segregated accounts for institutional investors and private client portfolios.
Bedlam believes that FPM will provide a cost effective and efficient integrated system platform for their investment management and administration process and the new system represents an important step in their next stage of growth. Bedlam will use all the core modules of the FPM system including order management, compliance, performance measurement and attribution, reporting and financial market feeds.
